We seek submissions covering all aspects of Graphics, HCI, and Visualization. All paper submissions are rigorously peer reviewed by at least three members of the international program committee.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All accepted GI papers will be indexed in the ACM Digital Library and will be open access in the Graphics Interface archive. The Michael A. J. Sweeney Award will be awarded at the conference to the best student papers in graphics and HCI. Authors of top papers will be invited to submit revised and extended versions to the journals <em>IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics<\/em> (<em>TVCG<\/em>) and <em>Computers &amp; Graphics<\/em>.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>New this year<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unlike past years, GI will not be co-conferencing with AI\/CRV, and as a result we are executing a number of exciting changes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Registration will be <strong><em>significantly more affordable<\/em><\/strong>, student registration will be <strong><em>minimal<\/em><\/strong>.<\/li><li>The conference will be <strong><em>two days<\/em><\/strong> long and<\/li><li>will be <strong><em>single track <\/em><\/strong>(interweaving HCI and graphics talks),<\/li><li>Papers submission will undergo <strong><em>OpenReview<\/em><\/strong> (details below) and<br>Authors will find out review results <strong><em>less than a month<\/em><\/strong> after submission.<\/li><li>Papers can be submitted to one of <em><strong>three deadlines<\/strong><\/em> (details below) strategically placed near other graphics and HCI deadlines\/notifications <\/li><li>submissions can<strong><em> use any format<\/em><\/strong> of the <em>ACM SIGGRAPH, ACM TOG, SIGCHI, Eurographics\/CGF.<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Deadlines<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><s>Paper Deadline #1: Friday, December 20, 2019, 11:59 pm EST<\/s><\/li><li><s>Author Notification for Deadline #1: Friday, January 10, 2020<\/s><\/li><li><s>Paper Deadline #2: Friday, January 24, 2020, 11:59 EST<\/s><\/li><li><s>Author Notification for Deadline #2: Friday, February 14, 2020<\/s><\/li><li><s>Paper Deadline #3: Friday, April 3, 2020<\/s><\/li><li><s>Author Notification for Deadline #3: Friday, April 24, 2020<\/s><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Multiple Paper Deadlines<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Submitting to any of the three papers deadlines is exactly equivalent. The review process will be the same for each. The only differences are the deadline and notification dates. All accepted papers across the three deadlines will present at the GI 2020 conference in May 2020. The incentive to submit to an earlier deadline is earlier author notification. Papers rejected from an earlier deadline are welcome to submit significantly revised versions of their paper to later deadlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Paper Submission Information<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Graphics Interface 2020 is excited to be the first Graphics\/HCI conference to use <a href=\"https:\/\/openreview.net\/group?id=graphicsinterface.org\/Graphics_Interface\/2020\/Conference\">OpenReview.<\/a> This system \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/openreview.net\/\">common in Machine Learning and Computer Vision<\/a> \u2013 allows for increased transparency and accountability during peer review.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">GI 2020 submissions will continue to be <strong><em>double-blind<\/em><\/strong>: authors will not know reviewers&#8217; identities, and reviewers will not know authors&#8217; identities. Immediately upon submission, each paper will become available <strong><em>publicly and anonymously <\/em><\/strong>and time-stamped accordingly. This eliminates the need to post submissions simultaneously on ArXiv, and consequently authors are prohibited from deanonymizing their papers by posting them on ArXiv or elsewhere. After the review period, all reviewers&#8217; scores and comments will be simultaneously revealed <strong><em>publicly and anonymously <\/em><\/strong>below each submission. (We will not allow anonymous public comments from non-reviewers).  Immediately upon decision of acceptance\/rejection or withdrawal, the author identities of each accepted submission will be revealed. Authors of rejected papers may decide to withdraw their submission if they do not wish to keep a deanonymized and timestamped public record of their submission.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Submitting to GI is format agnostic!<\/strong> Submissions can use <strong>any<\/strong> recent <em>ACM SIGGRAPH,<\/em> <em>SIGCHI<\/em> or <em>Eurographics\/Computer Graphics Forum<\/em> formatting. Accepted papers will be required to reformat to a consistent GI 2020 template before uploading a final revision.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Papers can be of any page length, though should be commensurate to the size of the contribution. All papers will have the same presentation time at the conference and there will be no distinction made between papers based on length in the program, proceedings or digital library.
